San Diego County Office of Military & Veterans Affairs

Provides professional services for military veterans and their dependents/survivors who may be entitled to benefits from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. A partial list of benefits that may be available include compensation, pension, education, vocational rehabilitation, VA home loan, requests for military records and decorations, etc.   San Diego County has a Veteran Services Representative (VSR) available at the VANC Resource Center.

DoD Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR)

The DoD level Board provides Veterans who were medically separated from their Military Service between September 11, 2001 and December 31, 2009 an opportunity for review of their disability ratings to ensure fairness, consistency and accuracy. The PDBR was created by Congress in 2008 and began reviewing its first cases in June 2009.

  2. An organization named American Veterans Aid (AVA) is charging for the preparation/filing of VA benefit forms (Compensation & Pension). It is ILLEGAL (a misdemeanor) to do so.
